Lake Mburo National Park
Is the place to see the gigantic eland antelope, as well as Zebra,topi,
impala & several acacia associated birds.It also has five lakes,which attract
hippos,crocodiles & a variety of water birds. The park is 230 Kms from Kampala.

Queen Elizabeth National Park
The park spreads over an Area of 1978Km in the western arm of the great African Rift valley,
and it is the home to a variety of wildlife including elephants, lions,hippos,buffaloes,Uganda
kobs,baboons and birds,all typical of riverrine and savannah habitats by road, the park headquqrters
is about 6 hours drive from Kampala via Mbarara and Katunguru.
Accomadation : at Mweya & Maramagambo forest there are upmarket loddges,a campsite & budget hostel. |
Murchison Falls
This is the largest NP in Uganda with an area of 3840km that protects a chunk of unjamed
Africa Savannah bisected by the mighty river Nile . By road it is a 3-hour drive
Activities include launch trips,game viewing,bird watching and chimp tracking.the park can be reached by road or air.
Accommodation : two up market lodges, a luxury tented camp, UWA chalets and camping
is permited in selected spots. |
Kibale National Park
It’s a home to a remarkable 13 primate species. Kibale’s major attraction is the opportunity
to track the chimpanzee, other activities include; bird watching and nature walks.
This park can be reached by road either through Kasese or Fort Portal.
Acommodation : Affordable bands and campsites at Kanyanchu, with a luxury tented camp

Bwindi Impenetrable
It is located in south western Uganda covering the district of Rukugiri,Kisoro and Kabale.
It was Gazetted in 1919 with an Area of 331km.This park hosts half of endangered
mountain gorillas and is famous for gorilla tracking.
Bwindi is through Kabale or Rukungiri by private or public road transport.
(9-10 hrs drive from Kampala).
By road the park is 534 km from Kampala.Charter flights can be arranged
to Kayonza Airstrip.
Accommodation : Two up market tented camps: a lodge, community run budget
rooms and camping are available near the Buhoma entrance gate. |
Kidepo Valley National Park
This is one of the most spectacular parks in Uganda: with an area of 1344Km,it harbours a great deal of animals species than other parks.Activities include:
game & scenery viewing,bird watching,hiking & cultural performances. Kidepo is
810Kms from Kampala & can be reached by road & air

Mount Elgon National Park
Is the 4th highest mountain in East Africa, it is an extinct volcano, located
in the eastern part of Uganda on the border with Kenya.
Many travelers find mount Elgon an exciting alternative to some of the strenuous
climbs in East Africa. The park can be reached by road transport and it takes 3-4 hrs to get there

Rwenzori Mountains National Park
The 120km Rwenzori chain is regarded to be the legendary snow capped mountains
of the moon.You can trek the central circuit in just 7 days . the park offers

Semliki National Park
Is an extention of the vast ituri continuum, it is situated at the remote corner
of extreme west of Uganda, in Bundibugyo district & borders DRC. Activities include;
primate & scenery viewing,hot springs & bird watching. The park can be reached by
road either via Mbende or Mbarara. Accommodation: Budget lodging in nearby Budibugyo. |
Mgahinga Gorilla
Covers an area of 33.7km, located in the extreme south west corner of Uganda,
which borders with Democratic Republic of congo & Rwanda. Activities include :
gorilla tracking,virunga volcano mountain hiking, and bird watching and cave exploration.
Accommodation : Up market lodge community run bandas & camping are available at the entrance.
The park is 510 km form Kampala & can reached by road through Kabale & Kisoro
